There are terrifying videos online of football pitches being sucked into the ground, or huge circular chasms which have opened up in the middle of cities. They are found all over the world but some parts of the world are more prone to them than others. And they're difficult to predict. The ground around the massive sinkhole in Bangkok continued to slide multiple times while water kept flowing from broken water pipes. At 12:30 PM on September 24, two officials from Bangkok's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office rappelled down to recover a white sedan in the pit near the tunnel entrance to attach tow cables to the vehicle. However, at that moment the ground slid further, forcing the officials to quickly escape to the surface for safety. Later at 1:10 PM, while a reporter wa
