All aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway! From horse-drawn beginnings in 1836, this 18-mile heritage railway (plus 6 miles into Whitby) winds through the breathtaking North York Moors via tunnel, incline, and Goathland—now a real-life Hogsmeade. Closed in 1965, saved by passionate volunteers, and reopened in 1973, with regular trips to Whitby since 2007. A ride steeped in history—steam, scenery, and nostalgia on the rails.
