As parents and teachers, we often become frustrated with tattling. Common responses to tattling include, “It’s not nice to tattle,” or, “You need to learn to handle it yourself.” Developmentally, however, children up to eight years of age are genetically programmed to bring their problems and upsets to adults for assistance.
