This dish is super close to my ❤️ As a kid I would get super excited when Mom made Marmahón (Honduran couscous with chicken). It’s a dish that immigrants of Arab descent have had on Central American countries. ⁣ ⁣ Now I normally stay away from chicken but I can’t say no to this dish. I ❤️ that I got to cook this family fav with my mom. ⁣ ⁣ Traditionally you would use Marmahón found in Spanish grocery stores but this Isreali Couscous we found on amazon was just as good (and quicker to make) ⁣ ⁣ S

For #hispanicheritagemonth I thought it would be fun to try to make some of my favorite dishes Central American dishes I ate As a child. (Mom guess what we are making when you come back to visit 🤗) For those of you who aren’t similar with this dish, a pupusa is a thick griddle cake or flatbread from El Salvador [1] made with cornmeal or rice flour, similar to the Venezuelan and Colombian arepa. In El Salvador, it has officially been declared the national dish and has a specific day to celebrate
