The Upper Derwent Valley Reservoirs of Howden, Derwent and Ladybower are a spectacular place to visit during the winter months. The magnificent Howden Dam creates a spectacular sight and noise (turn on the sound!) when it overflows. The Dams in the Upper Derwent Valley overflow during the winter months and create a spectacular display and noise! The Howden reservoir alongside Ladybower and Derwent make up the Upper Derwent Valley Reservoirs, home to some of the areas most dramatic scenery and famously the place where the Dam Busters trained in their Lancaster Bombers during World War 2.
