The answer isn’t “always” or “never.” A belt doesn’t make your core weak,itt gives you something to brace against, which can increase stability and help you lift heavier safely. That being said, beltless training can still have value. I personally like to take my lighter warmups beltless to practice my brace before heavy sets, as an example.
