From NWS Birmingham: A batch of heavy rain and thunderstorms is nearing west Alabama at this time. In Mississippi, there have been a couple cases of wind damage and a tornado near Yazoo City. The ingredients we look at for severe weather are present, but are quite low on our side of the state line and are limited to a small area right ahead of the line. This will keep the severe threat on the low side. Even so, keep tabs on the weather if out and about, and do a quick check before going to sleep
