The World Food Programme says it has delivered the last of its food in Gaza and warned the kitchens it has been supporting would run out of food in days. Nick Schifrin spoke with Executive Director Cindy McCain who says a lack of funding has forced WFP to cut 30 percent of its staff as it faces unprecedented challenges in feeding the hungry in Haiti.

The World Food Programme said on Friday it had run out of food stocks in Gaza due to the sustained closure of crossings into the enclave, while Gaza authorities said Israeli airstrikes had killed at least 78 people in the past 24 hours.

The United Nations’ World Food Programme has run out of food in Gaza, the organization said Friday, two months into Israel’s humanitarian blockade of the besieged enclave.
