Just before 9 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a call that 24-year-old Isaiah Langkiet had stabbed 64-year-old Elvira Langkiet. She was taken to a hospital but later died, Wichita police confirmed on Thursday. Isaiah Langkiet was initially arrested and accused of attempted murder, but now has been charged with first-degree murder.

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A man has been charged after a weekend stabbing victim died from her injuries overnight. According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were called to the 800 block of S. Fern St. just before 9 a.m. on Saturday for the report of a “cutting.”

Eljon Markaj, 31, of no fixed address, is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He was remanded in custody to appear again at Leeds Crown Court on 1 October for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
