Some will say that the Washington Mystics are supposed to be tanking. That statement is half true and half untrue. The reason is that while the team is managing to WNBA Draft lottery picks, they’ve managed to make a significant impact that puts the team in contention for a playoff spot.

On Monday, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier completed their draft for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. Both Washington Mystics rookies named to the game, guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen, were both drafted by Clark.

Citron and Iriafen, picked third and fourth in April’s draft, are the first rookie teammates to make a WNBA all-star team since 1999.
