Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has called for the sighting of Ramadan crescent in the kingdom on Friday evening to mark the commencement of the holy month, according to Saudi

Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims in the Kingdom to sight ramadan's crescent on the evening of Friday, February 28, the Supreme Court announced on Wednesday. The date corresponds to the 29 Shaban AD in the umm Al Qura calendar which has been developed by the country to determine dates and month.

Ramadan 2025 is expected to start on March 1, contingent upon the moon sighting on February 28. Muslim communities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India, and Pakistan will determine the start based on the crescent moon's visibility.
