With the NHL's salary cap continuing to be a hot-button topic, the league's commissioner, Gary Bettman, addressed the growing speculation.

MANALAPAN, Fla. -- The NHL salary cap is projected to be $92.4 million next season with the potential of it climbing slightly higher pending a possible negotiation between the League and NHL Players’ Association, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Tuesday. This season’s salary cap is $88 million.

At minimum, the NHL’s cap will rise to $92.4 million next year, which is a potential infusion of $141 million into the system. At the high end, the new money total could hit $288 million.

One of the biggest topics as the 2024-2025 NHL season progresses is the pending Collective Bargaining Agreement ending. The current CBA ends just before the 2026 season would begin, and it seems all parties are keen on avoiding a work stoppage this time around.
