The Charlotte Hornets were bounced from the NBA Cup prematurely, failing to get out of the group stage for the second consecutive year. Following another nail-biting loss last night, their fate was sealed.

The Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic are the Eastern Conference teams that advanced to the knockout stage. The Knicks advanced as the No. 2 seed and the Magic as the conference’s wild card out of the East Group A bracket.

The Hornets will be in front of their home fans on Tuesday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-court advantage. They will host the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:00 p.m. ET at Spectrum Center. The Hornets have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
