The Louisiana DOTD has closed the Bayou Dularge Bridge due to icy conditions, urging motorists to use caution and offering resources for travel updates.

The Interstate 10 closure spanned nearly the entire state, ending west of the Mississippi state line east of New Orleans.

According to DOTD, de-icing efforts are starting in the Lafayette and Lake Charles area. Crews will then work east as progress is made on the roads.

On Wednesday, crews were able to reopen Interstate 10 westbound from I-49 in Lafayette to the Texas border, but I-10 from Lafayette to Baton Rouge remained closed Thursday morning.

Department of Transportation and Development crews from Louisiana and Arkansas are still working to get everything back to normal as roads and bridges begin to thaw.
