A document that appears to come from the UAW's Dearborn contingent is brimming with excitement over a new engine and where it will find a home.

Am apparent leaked UAW Local 600 memo appears to point at the arrival of a new Shelby GT500. It appears the pony car icon could use an engine known as Legend.

A leaked memo from Ford's Dearborn Engine Plant says to expect a staffing increase this fall for the upcoming GT500's new mill.

Ford's Mustang Shelby GT500 has always been the top shelf of performance within the Mustang lineup—well, until Ford went and developed the Mustang GTD—but it disappeared after the 2022 model year, just before the S550-generation Mustang made way for the current S650 model.

While any purported document should be taken with a grain of salt, one recently surfaced on Reddit and was allegedly from UAW Local 600, which is based out of Dearborn, Michigan. Its members work at the Dearborn Engine Plant, Dearborn Stamping, and the Dearborn Truck Plant.

The last Mustang Shelby GT500 hit the dealerships in 2022, but it sounds like Ford is ready to bring the GT500 back with a pretty significant upgrade.
