Former Oakland Raiders running back Doug Martin was struggling with mental health leading up to his sudden death last weekend, Martin’s family said. Martin, 36, died while he was in Oakland Police Department custody shortly after he was arrested inside a neighbor’s house Saturday.

Former NFL All-Pro running back and Boise State star Doug Martin is dead at the age of 36, multiple outlets reported on Sunday.

His death is being investigated by police, the city police commission, the community police review agency and the county district attorney's office.
