The state of Illinois and city of Chicago filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration and Department of Homeland Security for unlawful use of force and dangerous tactics in immigration raids.

Sixty-five percent of Chicagoans think the Trump administration’s recent federal immigration enforcement activities have “gone too far,” according to results from a survey commissioned by the Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation and conducted by NORC as part of the University of Chicago’s ChicagoSpeaks panel.

The state of Illinois and city of Chicago filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump Administration on Monday, alleging federal agents carried out an illegal “occupation,” during which they utilized violent and unlawful tactics in violation of the Tenth Amendment and federal statutes.
