Top pitching prospect Cade Horton impressed in his major-league debut Saturday, tossing four innings in the Chicago Cubs’ 6-5 win over the New York Mets.

Cubs top pitching prospect Cade Horton made his debut today against the Seattle Mariners. In limited action his pitches looked sharp and he got the save for the Cubs.

Horton posted a 2.65 ERA in 21 starts at three levels. He struck out 117 and walked 27 in 88.1 innings. Horton’s performance firmly puts him on the radar to help the Cubs in 2024.

With two outs in the sixth inning on Monday, Horton’s performance appeared to be finished. He had thrown 97 pitches and was behind in the count after having just allowed a two-run homer.
