Yardbarker on MSNOrioles give concerning injury update on young star
His trip to the injured list with the left oblique strain was his first time on the IL in his four-year career.
BOSTON — Adley Rutschman had never been on the injured list before this season. After ending that streak with a five-week stint caused by a left oblique strain in June, the Orioles catcher was scratched from their lineup again Tuesday against the Red Sox with right abdominal discomfort.
The Orioles are in search of another manager for next season after firing Brandon Hyde. A possible candidate is someone that would give it a second chance in Baltimore.
Ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox, Rutschman was removed from the lineup due to right abdominal discomfort. “Adley Rutschman has been scratched with right abdominal discomfort, the Orioles say. Updated lineup for tonight’s game against the Red Sox,” wrote The Baltimore Sun’s Matt Weyrich.
The Orioles have shut down Zach Eflin and Felix Bautista for the season with injuries, continuing a disappointing season.
