VANCOUVER – The Canadiens announced Monday morning that forward Owen Beck has been loaned to the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, while forward Joshua Roy has been recalled on an emergency basis. Beck has recorded one assist in 12 games with Montreal this season.

“It was a good response game for us,” said Stars coach Pete DeBoer. “Back-to-back with no Roope Hintz, I thought we came in and played the type of road game we needed to. We defended hard, we took care of the puck, we were opportunistic when we needed to be. I thought it was a pretty solid road effort.”

It's unclear if Mathew Barzal will be able to return before the end of the regular season. The 27-year-old forward has been out with a lower-body injury sustained after blocking a shot late in the third period of a 3-2 overtime win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 1. He had a minor procedure Feb. 6 and is out indefinitely.

Marner’s resume includes being selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2017, the First All-Star Team in 2021 and 2022, and All-Star Game appearances in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
