President Donald Trump is urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to strike an elusive ceasefire deal after his Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The one-day summit left little to show for Trump as there appeared to be no breakthrough with Russia on a ceasefire deal in the over three-year war.

As President Trump touched down in Anchorage on Friday to meet with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia over the war in Ukraine, that country’s leader, President Volodymyr Zelensky, criticized continuing Russian strikes as a sign that Moscow was not prepared to end the conflict.
