McLaren's Lando Norris scored a dominant pole position for the 2025 Mexico City GP, with his F1 title rivals struggling behind
The Dutchman, who reignited his championship campaign with three wins in the last four races, including last weekend in Austin, admitted that his Red Bull RB21 is struggling at the high-altitude Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, casting doubt on his prospects for Sunday’s race.
Verstappen, 40 points off championship leader Piastri after a run of three wins and a second place in the past four races, set the pace, leading Ferrari's Charles Leclerc by 0.153 seconds. Norris was fourth fastest, while Piastri, 14 points ahead of the Briton, was down in 12th.
Max Verstappen said he is not optimistic about advancing from his fifth-place start in Sunday's Mexican Grand Prix after his qualifying performance.
