The Biden administration is rushing assistance to Ukraine in an effort to put Kyiv “in the strongest possible position” as Russia steps up its attacks and President Joe Biden prepares to leave office in less than two months.

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that a U.S. decision to send another weapons package to Ukraine worth $725 million showed that the outgoing Biden administration was determined to throw oil on the fire of the war in Ukraine to ensure the conflict kept going.

The U.S. Department of Defense on Monday announced a $725 million security assistance package for Ukraine in its war against invading Russia. The assistance includes artillery, rockets and air defense capabilities.
