IMD predicted heavy rainfall for the regions which are still recovering from the effects of Cyclone Fengal as the weather system is expected to approach the Tamil Nadu coast later in the day.

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for today and tomorrow in a few delta districts in Tamil Nadu. The alert has been issued in light of a building low pressure system in southeast Bay of Bengal.
