The fiasco that was the Boilermakers' final offensive play in a 27-24 loss to Rutgers at Ross-Ade Stadium will be the play people remember, but it wasn't the reason Purdue didn't win. That Ryan Browne completion to himself turned fumble did in some ways epitomize Purdue's season, which now includes six losses in a row.
The spread has opened for next weekend's Big Ten matchup between Purdue and Michigan. The Wolverines enter the game as heavy favorites over the Boilermakers.
The Boilermakers had an opportunity for a game-winning drive, but fumbled that opportunity away and likely their shot at ending a Big Ten losing streak this season.

Purdue football came out strong early in its homecoming matchup, taking an early lead and looking to be in position to pick up its third win of the year. A fourth quarter collapse ended these hopes as Rutgers was able to flip the game with a last second kick.
