The destruction of a portion of the White House’s East Wing to create the ballroom has hit a nerve among critics, who view it as an overhaul of a historic building for a flashy pet project.

The White House has completed the demolition of its iconic East Wing under the Trump administration.

On Thursday, the White House published a list of contributors, which included US technology giants Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, and Palantir, as well as defence contractor Lockheed Martin.
