The Hoosiers scored in multiple phases for a dominant win over a red-hot UCLA program. Here's what we learned, and some concerns.
There were plenty of instances in this game where Indiana may have had to punt if UCLA defenders were able to adequately wrap up. One play in stood out in particular, a 16-yard Fernando Mendoza run on 3rd-and-9, where the Heisman quarterback broke a few tackles before gutting out a first down in Indiana's opening drive.
On the opening play, Indiana defensive tackle Tyrique Tucker burst through the line for a sack on UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Tucker basically set up shop in the Bruins’ backfield along with whoever was lining up next to him on the interior of IU's defensive line.
