Crews responded and were able to contain a spill into the Allegheny River earlier today. Hydraulic fluid spilled along the river bank in Lower Burrell outside of the Braeburn Alloy Steel Plant around 3 p.

While officials are unsure how much fluid spilled into the Allegheny River in Lower Burrell, they have said that it is contained.

A leak at a steel plant sent hydraulic fluid into the Allegheny River on Monday. The incident happened at Braeburn Alloy Stell in Lower Burrell around 3 p.m. The local fire chief says the leak extended for almost two miles before it was contained.
