President Donald Trump has defended accepting a Boeing 747 from Qatar, comparing it to the Statue of Liberty.The president reshared a post on Truth Social noting that the statue was gifted to the U.S.

“The Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Department of Defense, NOT TO ME! It is a gift from a Nation, Qatar, that we have successfully defended for many years,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, late on Tuesday, May 13.

As Trump’s visit in Qatar came to a close, it had yet to formally present an offer for the megajet the country is expected to gift Trump.

If the luxury plane is accepted, it will be taken to the Pentagon, where it will be transformed into an Air Craft One.
