Tyrell Hatton survived a tense final hole to finish one shot ahead of Daniel Hillier and capture the Dubai Desert Classic. Hatton went into the final hole two shots clear of Hillier; however, the Englishman was forced to dispatch a par putt to win the event following his opponent’s birdie.

Englishman Tyrrell Hatton held off Daniel Hillier of New Zealand to win the Dubai Desert Classic by a stroke on Sunday. Overnight leader Hillier birdied the last to put pressure on his playing partner but Hatton held his nerve to hole his par putt from seven feet and secure the win.

Overnight leader Ewen Ferguson shot a two-over 74 to lie third on 10 under, with England's Laurie Canter and New Zealand's Ryan Fox tied for fourth a shot further back and defending champion Rory McIlroy just outside the top 10 after a 69.
