Gardaí (Irish police) are investigating the death of man in his 60s in a fire at an apartment building in Cork. Gardaí and the fire brigade received a report of the fire at 18:50 GMT on Friday evening.

The fire happened at an apartment on Togher Road, in the south side of Cork. A second person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, according to RTÉ. A Gardaí spokespers

A man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene of an incident in West Cork.The incident occurred at Gortnamuckla, outside Dunmanway town at approximately 6.35pm."His body has been removed to University Hospital Cork.

A man tragically lost his life yesterday evening after suffering a medical emergency on a road in west Cork. Members of An Garda Siochana and emergency medical personnel attended the scene of the incident in the Gortnamucklagh area of Dunmanway at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday, February 1.
