KTVU FOX 2 San Francisco on MSNVallejo native CC Sabathia pays homage to hometown roots during Baseball Hall of Fame induction
Vallejo native CC Sabathia was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, as he gave homage to his hometown and paid special tribute to the “wise and caring" women in his life.
CC Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki, Billy Wagner, Dick Allen and Dave Parker were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
Their journeys to baseball immortality were the talk of the weekend -- in more ways than one. For CC Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki and Billy Wagner, induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame marked the culmination of careers that spanned generations and crossed continents.
Suzuki referened the lone writer who did not give him a Hall of Fame vote, saying that a previous invitation to dinner had now "expired."

The Vacaville Reporter on MSNPhoto: CC Sabathia enshrined in Cooperstown
The Vallejo native said
CC Sabathia might be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t get here without a wait. First, there was the family car trouble -- hilariously chronicled on social media -- that delayed Sabathia’s arrival to this village that serves as baseball’s mecca.
On the day of Sabathia's Hall fo Fame induction, it's worth remembering the most valuable personality on Yankees' 2009 championship team.
Sabathia is part of a troupe of three wearing some New York ties that is set to be inducted Sunday at Clark Sports Center. His former teammate with the Yankees, Ichiro Suzuki, and former Mets closer Billy Wagner will join him. And they will be going in with a couple of late greats, Dave Parker and Dick Allen.
CC Sabathia's 19-year Major League ride toward the Hall of Fame was a smoother one than the actual drive he made to Cooperstown for his induction.
