The species, dubbed the "bone collector," belongs to an ancient lineage of moths older than the Hawaiian island of Oahu, which is the only place it's known to live today

A carnivorous caterpillar species camouflages itself with dead insects so it can live safely alongside spiders, stalking their webs and stealing their prey

There are other meat-eating caterpillars that "do lots of crazy things, but this takes the cake," the study's author said.
