Arizona State University has received a $50 million gift from energy executive Robert L. Zorich. It will be used to launch the Global Institute for the Future of Energy.

The new conservation school builds on ASU's longstanding reputation as a global leader in sustainability. Under Crow's leadership, the university became the first in the nation to offer degrees in sustainability in 2006, and today it ranks first in the U.S. for sustainability efforts, from climate-focused research to public policy innovation.

"Arizona State University is embarking on a multiyear, multiphase renovation of the arena — home of the Sun Devils’ men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling teams — with an estimated cost of $100 million."
