Mars Hill Town Manager Nathan Bennett said Waffle House was forced to close the building due to structural damage related to the large sinkhole on the J.F. Robinson Lane side of the parking lot. The sinkhole appeared Sept. 26, a day before Tropical Storm Helene tore through Western North Carolina.
Springfield Township police have arrested Rausheen Rivers, 21, of Akron and accused him of being involved in a shootout at a Waffle House in September.
