The Arizona Department of Transportation announced major weekend traffic closures for the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
The improvement project along Interstate 10 near Sky Harbor International Airport continues to cause weekend road closures and lane restrictions.
Following snow, sleet and ice that arrived in the Big Bend and South Georgia Tuesday due to a winter storm, a large stretch of a major highway shut down Wednesday evening.
I-10 east from Gramercy in the Baton Rouge area to the Mississippi state line has remained closed since Tuesday after 10 inches of snow dropped on the New Orleans area. “Since the temps went back down to freezing, there have been five vehicles spin and slide on the icy bridge!!!” The Pascagoula Police Department posted on its Facebook page. “The driving conditions are dangerous right now. First responders are placing barricades on both sides to warn motorists not to drive on the bridge.”

Interstate 10 continues to be closed in both directions from the Alabama, Florida state line to Exit 192 in Gadsden County.
Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Dylan Bryan said one semi-truck involved in the crash became "engulfed in flames" when the collision happened.

The Interstate 10 closure spanned nearly the entire state, ending west of the Mississippi state line east of New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) had deployed crews traveling in both directions to treat the interstate's surfaces in an effort to restore normal traffic flow.
From New Orleans to Jefferson Parish, there is gridlock on every major alternate road including Earhart, Airline, Veterans, and Jefferson Davis Parkway.
