Martin Necas has played 11 games for the Colorado Avalanche since being acquired in a blockbuster deal back on January 24.

The NHL trade deadline is two days away. So far, the NHL season had two blockbuster trades before the 4 Nations Face-Off break. Mikko Rantanen was dealt by the Colorado Avalanche to the Carolina Hurricanes and J.T. Miller was traded by the Vancouver Canucks to the New York Rangers.

The No. 1 objective for the Avs should be to get out of the first wild-card spot into the top three of the Central Division.

But that may be just the case after defenseman Lian Bichsel left Sunday night’s game vs. the New York Islanders with an injury. Bichsel suffered what looked to be a head injury after Islanders center Casey Cizikas delivered a blow to the Stars' 20-year-old mid-way through the second period.
