Schauffele gave it a rip and didn't feel any twinge in his right ribs from an intercostal strain and slight tear in his cartilage that has kept him out of golf for two months. He returns to the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill this week with modest expectations.
However, the most important thing is that he will be there, and we have no doubt that he will catch the rhythm in the coming weeks. Schauffele talked about the challenges during the injury, noting that he continued with the training schedule even while his coach was not present.
Clark shared the 36-hole lead at Bay Hill a year ago and finished second. Lowry shared with 54-hole lead with Scheffler and finished third. Last year was the first time Lowry and Clark broke 70 at Bay Hill, so they appear to have figured something out.
Xander Schauffele is sixth all-time behind Tiger Woods, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Hale Irwin and Dow Finsterwald for consecutive made cuts.
