Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel returned to practice for the first time on Tuesday after suffering an injury in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins on Jan. 11. The veteran skated in a non-contact jersey and will not suit up for Tuesday's tilt versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Eichel notched a power-play assist, four shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes. Eichel has gone five games without a goal but has three assists in that span. The 28-year-old center is up to 55 points through 44 outings this season.
Jake Neighbours and Brayden Schenn scored during a shootout after St. Louis gave up two goals in the final minutes of regulation, and the Blues held on to defeat the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 on Monday.
Eichel will miss his first game of the campaign Sunday. Nicolas Roy (upper body), who was activated from injured reserve Sunday, will replace Eichel in the lineup. William Karlsson and Tomas Hertl will center the Golden Knights ' top two lines. Eichel's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in Nashville.
