Federal authorities said Monday that they foiled a plot to bomb multiple sites of two US companies on New Year’s Eve in Southern California after arresting members of an extremist anticapitalist and antigovernment group.
Federal authorities announced the arrests of four people on Monday accused of planning violence in Southern California. Officials said the people arrested were plotting an “organized, sophisticated and extremely violent” attack. The group had planned to bomb several companies on New Year’s Eve, authorities said.
Administration officials said the case grew out of a presidential order declaring antifa to be a terrorist group.
