Some local departments are now equipped with car fire blankets, a tool designed to isolate an electric car fire.

Fire Blanket; fighting EV fires with new technology As electric vehicles (EV) grow in popularity, the West Bend Fire Department has found a different way to fight potential EV fires.

When crews arrived, they immediately put an EV-specific fire blanket over the car and used straps to keep it in place.
