People who left Afghanistan urge the US president not to toughen his stance after an attack allegedly carried out by an Afghan national.

Local law enforcement in Washington, D.C., will join National Guard members on patrols around the nation's capital after an attack on two Guard members killed one and left the other in critical condition earlier this week, The Washington Post reported.

Officials said the man had driven across the country to carry out the attack, which left two National Guard troops critically hurt.
