The election for the next governor happens on November 3, 2026. GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - New faces have entered the race for Wisconsin governor less than 24 hours after Governor Tony Evers announced he would not seek a third term.
Gov. Tony Evers declined to run for a third term, allowing Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez to run for the top spot in 2026.
Walker posted the photo with the comment "Interesting...," alluding to the fact that he could seek a non-consecutive term as governor like Trump did as president. Coincidentally, Walker would be the 45th and 47th governor should he run and win in 2026.
