Tbilisi protests demand Georgia election re-run and EU talks as police and protesters adapt tactics For two weeks now, protesters in Tbilisi have been gathering to demand a re-run of Georgia's Parliamentary elections - and the resumption of EU accession talks.

Georgian Dream retained control of parliament in the disputed Oct. 26 election, a vote widely seen as a referendum on Georgia’s EU aspirations. The opposition and the pro-Western president, Salome Zourabichvili, have accused the governing party of rigging the vote with neighboring Russia’s help and have boycotted parliament sessions.

The European Union is threatening the Georgian government with sanctions in light of the violence against pro-European protesters. Possible measures will be examined at the foreign ministers' meeting next Monday,
