Authorities fear a grandmother who disappeared while looking for her cat may have been swallowed up by a sinkhole that recently opened up in a western Pennsylvania village

First responders in Westmoreland County are searching for a 64-year-old woman who reportedly fell in a 30-foot sinkhole in Unity Township.

Troopers said the sinkhole is about 30 feet deep, and debris within it has presented difficulties in the search for Pollard, according to KDKA. It opened up above a former coal mine.
