Temperatures could reach a record-breaking 100 degrees in the metro and up to 103 on the plains, forecasters said.

Several days of record-breaking heat are expected in Denver, and the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory that will go into effect on Friday. The advisory extends into Saturday, and it's for the Denver metro area as well as parts of Colorado's Front Range to the north and south and for much of eastern Colorado as well.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory at 10:08 a.m. EDT on Saturday valid from 3 p.m. EDT until Sunday 8 p.m. EDT for Dickinson and Menominee counties.

At 2:23 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory valid from Sunday noon until Tuesday 8 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.

An extreme heat watch has been issued for all of Southeast Michigan Saturday morning through Tuesday evening. Expect high temperatures well into the 90s and heat index temperatures at or above 100 degrees during daytime hours.
