Several horses were on the loose south of Grand Rapids Wednesday morning, sparking a traffic alert for the animals.

KENT COUNTY, MI – Traffic is slowed on M-6 on Wednesday, March 5, while police and others round up 15 horses that got loose. An officer reported “pandemonium.” The horses were reported loose on M-6 between U.S. 131 and Kalamazoo Avenue SW. They had escaped from a boarding facility.

A stretch of highway was disrupted early Wednesday from a peculiar traffic issue. Several horses are loose on M-6 near the Kalamazoo ramp, with some being caught as far as US-131 near Hannah Lake, the Michigan State Police posted on X. The horses belong on Wilson, and the owners are getting a trailer to bring them home, according to officials.
