‘Harry Potter’ Actor Rupert Grint Hit With $2.3 Million Tax Bill Following Legal Battle
The Associated Press reports that the 36-year-old Harry Potter alum had been ordered to pay up in 2019 after the U.K. tax agency His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs looked into his tax return from 2012. Grint’s bill is 1.8 million pounds, which is equivalent to nearly $2.3 million.

Grint was ordered to pay the money in 2019 after the U.K. tax agency said he had wrongly classed 4.5 million pounds in residuals from the movies as a capital asset rather than income, which is subject to a much higher tax rate.
