A volatile severe weather outbreak swept across southern Minnesota, with a confirmed tornado touchdown near Hartland and multiple warnings issued across the Truman–Mankato region.
There are many severe thunderstorm warnings across Southern Minnesota as of 6:20 p.m., along with heavy rain and hail. In Wisconsin, there is a tornado warning in Trempealeau County until 6:45 p.m. In Minnesota, there is a tornado warning in Martin and Watonwan counties until 6:45 p.m. There is also a tornado warning in Cottonwood County.
SHERWOOD TWP., MI — Storm chaser Ben Richman followed the deadly March 6 tornado that tore through the north Union Lake area. Richman is from Vicksburg and works with Michigan Storm Chasers. He said this tornado was among the strongest he has encountered in his five to six years of storm chasing.
With Reed Timmer in town monitoring the skies, southern Minnesota and northern Iowa brace for severe weather, including the possibility of damaging hail and thunderstorms.
