The underwater wreckage of the Pan American Airways flight that crashed and killed 52 people just off Puerto Rico’s coast in 1952 has been found, according to a news release from searchers.

After a deadly crash nearly three quarters of a century ago, a missing Pan Am passenger plane was finally found on the ocean floor, and cameras were there the moment researchers discovered it.

With the Discovery Channel documenting the search, the plane's fuselage and tail were found 2,000 feet below the surface using an autonomous sonar drone typically used to find undersea mines.
